tidbits of wisdom

Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours. ~ Swedish Proverb

Whatever you are, be a good one ~Abraham Lincoln

Happiness: when what you think, what you do and what you are are in harmony. ~Ghandi

This life is yours. Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well.

Gordon B. Hinckley Quotes:
"Generally speaking, the most miserable people I know are those who are obsessed with themselves; the happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others...By and large, I have come to see that if we complain about life, it is because we are thinking only of ourselves."

"Life is to be enjoyed, not endured"

"My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life we 'accentuate the positive.' I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment and endorse virtue and effort."

"The only way to get anything done is to get on your knees and plead for help and then get on your feet and go to work."

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. i say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us,...if we put our trust in Him, if we pray to Him, if we live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

Baby, It's cold outside...

My clinical rotation on the Psych unit has been interesting... the staff is pretty laid back and chill and the patients have been pretty friendly. I'm excited for clinicals to be OVER in a couple of weeks. I've been a little grumpy lately, and it's almost Thanksgiving so here a list of things I'm grateful for this week in no particular order...
1. my faith
2. my family and friends (will be on every one of my lists)
3. Packages from home
4. pumpkin anything
5. chocolate oranges : )
6. hot cocoa, a warm blanket, and a good book when it's snowing outside
7. the sun
8. meteor showers
9. butt warmers (in the car)
10. boots

Crystal got baptized on November 14, 2009. I'm so happy for her!

Falling for Fall

ICU clinicals are DONE! I miss them dearly, Psych has been interesting so far. The next week will be crazy busy, but I know I can do it!
I know I'm usually a Utah hater, but something about the fall makes even Utah magical. : )
Here are some pics I took on a walk around P-town.

I know Halloween is over, but this picture is so cute that I couldn't resist

Are these just adorable? Owl cupcakes!

Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more. ~Brother David Steindl-Rast

Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others. ~Buddha

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace. ~Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Happy Halloween!

I'm really not the biggest fan of Halloween, but I wasn't gonna sit at home all night...
This Halloween I wanted to be a Trauma victim...
with the help of my Amazing roomies, Crystal and Amy ( mostly Crystal) it happened.
We really aren't scary people. It was just for a night : )

Crystal and I were dead, Hannah was T-pain

the look on crystal's face is pretty scary...

despite the scariness of our costumes, we really are a happy bunch..most of the time

Here are some other pics from a church Halloween party:
