Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.  ~Author unknown, attributed to a 7-year-old named Bobby

Christmas is forever,
not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself...

Winter Wonderland

Brrrrrrrrr...Lately it's been cold outside. Despite the snow and the below freezing temperature I love this time of year.

 Reasons I love Christmastime:
~ family
~food (cookies, hot cocoa)
~music
~sweaters
~decorations
~cheerful people
~presents
~ Most importantly people remember the Savior

Finals are here...I can't wait til they are over. 9 days until I go home!

I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.”
- Martha Washington

are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."

The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”

tidbits of wisdom

Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours. ~ Swedish Proverb

Whatever you are, be a good one ~Abraham Lincoln

Happiness: when what you think, what you do and what you are are in harmony. ~Ghandi

This life is yours. Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well.

Gordon B. Hinckley Quotes:
"Generally speaking, the most miserable people I know are those who are obsessed with themselves; the happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others...By and large, I have come to see that if we complain about life, it is because we are thinking only of ourselves."

"Life is to be enjoyed, not endured"

"My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life we 'accentuate the positive.' I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment and endorse virtue and effort."

"The only way to get anything done is to get on your knees and plead for help and then get on your feet and go to work."

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. i say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us,...if we put our trust in Him, if we pray to Him, if we live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

Falling for Fall

ICU clinicals are DONE! I miss them dearly, Psych has been interesting so far. The next week will be crazy busy, but I know I can do it!
I know I'm usually a Utah hater, but something about the fall makes even Utah magical. : )
Here are some pics I took on a walk around P-town.

I know Halloween is over, but this picture is so cute that I couldn't resist

Are these just adorable? Owl cupcakes!

Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more. ~Brother David Steindl-Rast

Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others. ~Buddha

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace. ~Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler."

All good things are wild and free

However mean your life is, meet it and live it: do not shun it and call it hard names. Cultivate poverty like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Things do not change, we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts. God will see that you do want society.

~Henry David Thoreau
